This medal has all the silver marks, and was awarded to a K. HUGHES in 1935. The Obverse shows a life saver helping and supporting a swimmer in distress. Around the disc is a wreath and the words THE ROYAL LIFE SAVING SOCIETY AWARD OF MERIT. The reverse a female holding a palm frond and bestowing it to a rising sun. Where she is seated is the name of K. HUGHES and the year awarded. There are silver and makers marks. This is all surrounded by a circular wreath. the medal is in very nice condition the ribbon however is a bit dirty.
